Introducing AML-Sport-badge-2025-dark DIL Sport

Motorsport Innovation Driving the Future of Simulation Technology

Motorsport has long stood at the forefront of technology and innovation, serving as a high-speed laboratory where cutting-edge ideas are relentlessly tested under extreme conditions.

From advancements in aerodynamics and materials science to breakthroughs in hybrid and electric powertrains, racing constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible, and has earned its place as a key contributor to the evolution of automotive technology and sustainable mobility solutions.

Ansible Motion has a strong motorsport heritage stretching back to its foundation, with racing teams and performance car constructors being among the first to adopt innovative DIL simulation technologies, covering series such as F1, FE, WEC, WRC, NASCAR, IndyCar and off-road.

Over the last 15 years we have evolved our product offerings to cover all forms of ground vehicle simulation – including road cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, space exploration vehicles and more.

In introducing our new Sport-badged products, Ansible Motion is recognising the special performance requirements that exist for racing applications.

Ansible Motion DIL Sport simulators span across our Delta, Sigma and Theta DIL simulator product lines.

These new simulators are specifically designed for motorsport applications, and are a breed apart from our other ground vehicle DIL solutions, with a number of specialised features and capabilities.

Theta-Sport-01 Theta Seat

Theta Seat Sport is a static simulator that we’ve designed to fit neatly within racing programme workflows. Theta Seat Sport can be deployed in individual, stand-alone instances, and it can also seamlessly integrate with other simulators and external tools to create multi-sim, multi-driver environments.

It features a modular, plinth-based architecture with easily reconfigurable geometry for different race series (heel-to-hip height, seat position, pedal placement, etc.) and direct connectivity with most Ansible Motion active loading and cueing systems.

The computational horsepower is unmatched by any other static simulator, with the full Ansible Motion tool chain, identical to that used in our dynamic simulators. The open and modular software architecture connects with practically anything.

Theta-Sport-01 Theta Cube

Theta Cube Sport brings the realism of large, permanently installed systems into a self-contained, compact and portable package that enables true engineering class DIL simulation.

It features a projection-based vision system and a plinth-based driver-surround cassette, and it can easily connect Ansible Motion’s full suite of driver sensory feedback and immersion systems, including a reconfigurable race car cockpit, an adjustable racing seat and fully configurable pedal box and multi-function steering wheels.

Theta Cube Sport is a scalable, cross-simulator bridge, allowing racing teams to transition between, static and dynamic configurations without compromise, and with the added assurance of plug-and-play compatibility.

“It takes only half a day to produce the computer model that tests a new configuration of the car. That speed lets us try out things like different aerodynamic arrangements, in a variety of conditions, before we start cutting steel and spending lots of money. We can test four suspension setups, with four drivers, on four tracks, in a single day.”

“We’d drive the Mustang as it was set up and then change the bushings or spring rate, or tyre compounds. The simulator enabled us to quickly understand what that was doing to the ride and handling characteristics of the car. It really helped us to get the bones right before we got into physical prototypes.”

“Our customers rely on virtual vehicle models to gain efficiency, improve performance and reduce cost during the vehicle development process. Investing in the Ansible Motion Theta C Driver-in-the-Loop simulator allows Michelin to satisfy the needs of our customers for reliable vehicle models by providing robust and accurate tire models.”
